Flash Fatigue

I've been using Canon cameras now for 17 years and with my hand on my heart I can genuinely say that I love them, not one (touching wood) have they ever let me down with their super accurate lenses and bodies. But why is it that on nearly every shoot I go on I have flash problems using Canon TTL flashes? I mean I always get the shot I need but something always niggles, usually massive overexposure until one gun is moved a couple of feet then the meters seem to get things right. I can't put my finger on it but for cutting edge lighting solutions from the world leading camera manufacturer they really should be allot better.

What with everything that's going on in the world today with the global financial crisis, George W Bush clearing off to live a life of luxury for "good" service and the newbie Barrack Obama stepping in to probably continue with the, err, extravagant US foreign policy business seems to be coming in as usual. Note the strategic use of highly googled terms there to get more hits.

In the next few weeks I'll have to dig out my thermals as I've shoots in Inverness which is as far north as I've ever been on this beautiful island of ours and a shoot in the Alps. I'll definitely need a hat for that one.

Until then I'll keep working on my new years resolution to try and transfer some of my work to clients that are based a little closer to home.
